This week DC’s The Button continued in The Flash #21, and it was awesome! This week not only featured more fantastic artwork, but also had a story rich and with substance. It had the Flash and Batman investigating the attack on the Batcave and the mysterious button. I won’t go into spoilers, but there are so many cool easter eggs in this issue that elude to so many eras throughout DC’s history. The story is capped off with an epic twist that sent me reeling with theories! I cannot wait to see how this is all wrapped up in the next couple issues. Other DC comics to read this week are: Action Comics, Batgirl, Batman and the Shadow, Detective Comics, Justice League of America and Wonder Woman.
Once again Marvel was all about the X-Men this week, and that is not a bad thing! This week saw the release of X-Men Gold #2, X-Men Blue #2 and Weapon X #2. All these comics are the fresh start that the X-Men needed. To me, these comics all feature a classic X-Men vibe; even the Weapon-X comic has a X-Force type feel to it. These comics make me remember when X-Men comics were good, when I would read old X-Men comics and actually enjoy them, and I am happy to have that feeling back. Marvel comics you should also read this week are: Old Man Logan, Elektra, Darth Maul, Infamous Iron man, Thanos and Rocket Raccoon. A final note is about Ben Reilly: Scarlet Spider. Ben Reilly is a beloved character in the Spider-Man Universe, and this first issue did not do him justice. His costume looked bad and was corny; I mean he stole it from a cosplayer, just c’mon. The story lacked originality and felt like a Deadpool comic, but not a good one. I hope it gets better, but I do not have high hopes.
