The outstanding comic this week for Marvel was Secret Empire #4. This issue, although didn’t do a whole lot to build the event, was an amazing contained story about Hank Pym and the Avengers as a whole. Hank Pym, who is now merged with Ultron, captured all the Avengers (both Tony and Captain Americas Team) and had a nice sit down dinner with them. In this dinner Hank wanted to have everyone get along and pointed out to them that they spend more time fighting each other than anyone else. He also says that Ultron isn’t trying to attack them because they will just wipe each other out. Unfortunately drunk A.I Tony Stark tells Hank to shove it and that the whole reason things fell apart and that he was never treated respect because he domestically assaulted Janet Van Dyne. So then they all escaped, but if a psycho killer is telling you that the infighting is bad, you better listen. Also check out: Uncanny Avengers, Star Wars, Old Man Logan, Defenders, and All-New Wolverine.
DC crushed it this week the Dark Days: The Forge, the prelude to the Dark Nights: Metal event that starts in August. This event is going to introduce us the something called the Dark Multiverse as well as a ton of ‘evil Batmen’. This first prelude comic created a hundred questions and gave no answers. They brought back too big characters and they are….SPOILERS….Joker and Plastic Man. Both are being kept in different batcaves by Batman, also since when does Batman keep prisoners? This issue was incredibly written by Scott Synder and James Tynion IV, and beautiful drawn by Jim Lee, Andy Kubert and John Romita Jr. This issues left me wanting to know all of the secrets it had, which is exactly what a prelude issue should do. Make sure to also check out: Justice League of America, Action Comics, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Detective comics and Batgirl and the Birds of Prey.
