This week was an emotional week for DC. After many years, Batman got to talk to his father again, who is also Batman. This issue filled me with sadness for both father and son, seeing them together again was so heartfelt and intense. For Bruce to tell his dad that he has a son, and that he is a grandfather. Then for Thomas to tell his son not to be Batman, but to be a father and find happiness in life. To not be Batman for his parents anymore, but to leave it behind and just be a Dad. Couple that with Bruce having to watch his father die again was just too much, it legitimately brought tears to my eyes. Other great comics to check out this week include: Superman, Nightwing, Green Lanterns, Aquaman, and Green Arrow.
This week for Marvel the comic that touched me the most was Star Wars: Poe Dameron. This issue was a tribute to Carrie Fisher. One of Black Squadron had died in battle and they were at the funeral. Poe gives a speech about how no matter if people are gone, they will still illuminate our lives. Later on Leia says that she may be only an illumination very soon. This comic hit hard, Leia is an icon and so is Carrie Fisher and this comic was an incredibly touching send off by the writer. Other comics to check out are: X-Men Gold, Secret Empire, Jean Grey, Jessica Jones, Black Bolt and All-New Guardians of the Galaxy.
