DC and Warner Bros. LEGO Batman Movie has hit the world by storm, not overly surprising since it is Batman, but impressive none the less.
As soon as the critics started releasing the reviews for this movie, I just had to see it. Not because I wanted to go to the theatre and watch a kids movie about one of my favorite superheroes, but for the podcast (and yes, I will keep telling myself that). I will start out by saying I thought this movie was a stupid idea from the start, and I am not a Will Arnett fan so this movie really had zero appeal to me. That was until the trailers started to come out, now there was a lot of trailers and teasers, and TV spots, and who knows what else, but I found most of them really funny. Then the critic reviews started rolling in and I was just blown away by how great they were! So I decided to see it, and I'm glad that I did.
LEGO Batman was an insanely fun watch, hilarious, heart warming, and just down right silly. The writers and director did a great job taking the Batman mythos and making a fun enjoyable movie out of it, and just plain making fun of it. Will Arnett and Michael Cera as Batman and Robin had great chemistry and just hilarious dialogue between the two of them, along with Rosario Dawson as Batgirl and Ralph Fiennes as Alfred. Now I wont go into a whole spoiler filled review since it just opened and I wouldn't want to give anything away, but I just wanted to touch on how cool I thought it was for them to bring back so many (and I mean a lot) of Batman's forgotten villains. Everyone from Crazy Quilt to Condiment King, yes that is a really Batman villain.
Overall this movie is a great watch for the whole family and I highly recommend you guys check it out, especially if you've got kids!
I'm gonna give LEGO Batman an 8/10.
Thanks for reading everyone, and don't forget to see The LEGO Batman Movie soon!
